Here's part one of the trip, which shows the awesome house B, O and I stayed in.
My view was of the ocean and this crazy fortress of a judicial center. It was really mysterious and pretty heavily guarded around the clock. The craziest part was that a couple of times, at around 3am, they brought out piles of garbage and furniture and ground it up in a huge garbage truck. The sound was the loudest thing I've ever heard in my life - like the sounds Megatron would make if he found out his girl had left him for Bumble Bee or something.
And then, there was this picture in my room. Is this the kind of photo you'd put in a guest room, if you were renting out your house to tourists? Maybe. Of course, my rational mind was saying, "Oh, it's just an ancient picture of some native folks who'd covered their heads with burlap sacks to ensure that the camera didn't 'steal their souls.'" My subconscious, however, decided that it was the scariest picture EVER and gave me insane and really funny dreams the first night of the trip.
Cool, old safe in the hallway and details from my beautiful, massive room.
Hands down the best part of the trip was finding out that the other girls, T, L & S, were literally around the corner from us. The back wall of our courtyard was the back wall of their swimming area. Their place, The Siesta, was pretty perfect if you're looking for the best hotel in the Historic Center. Awesome views from the balcony and this gorgeous banyan tree-filled courtyard.
